16 augustus 1997 is het precies 20 jaar geleden dat Elvis Presley op 42-jarige leeftijd overleed. Ter herdenking van dit feit verscheen al Always Elvis - The Dutch Album met daarop zijn grootste Nederlandse hits. Platinum is voor vele Elvis-verzamelaars een stuk interessanter. Deze boxset, bestaande uit vier cd's, telt 100 songs waarvan er 77 nog niet eerder op cd verschenen. Het gaat hier op 'live' opnamen en alternatieve 'takes' van bekende songs. Als klapstuk bevat de set twee obscure opnamen. Eén uit 1954, een acetate van I'll Never Stand In Your Way en één die tijdens zijn diensttijd in Duitsland in 1959 met een simpele bandrecorder werd opgenomen (Bad Nauheim Medley). (CK)
